The government has provided relief to GST taxpayers from a physical visit to the tax office for digital signature verification on return forms. CBIC has allowed taxpayers to file GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B through an Electronic Verification Code (EVC), a one-time-password-based mechanism, eliminating the need for digital signature verification via office visits. Per the CBIC notification, EVC authentication for these two forms is available to taxpayers from 27 April 2021 to 31 May 2021.
